There are 4 Copyright Fair Use Factors including using copyrighted materials for media criticism, quoting copyrighted works of popular culture to illustrate an argument or point, capturing copyrighted media content in the process of filming something else, and using copyrighted material in a historical sequence. Using copyrighted materials for media criticism allows people to exercise their right of free speech by judging the piece. By allowing the copyrighted piece to illustrate an argument they are allowed to exercise the right of free speech and free press by using the work as evidence. By allowing the capture of copyrighted content in the process of filming and in historical sequences it allows the user to film freely and not be restricted for the filming of an object or thing that appears in the movie or sequence however is not the main idea or purpose of the movie or sequence.
